Treatment

To know more about what a specialist paediatric dentist does, click here. If you need further information, please speak to one of our support staff.

Our specialists consult and treat at numerous facilities including the Northside Specialist Centre in Brisbane, Ipswich Professional Centre, Hill Street Specialist Rooms in Toowoomba, Holy Spirit Northside Hospital, North West Private Hospital and St Andrew's Toowoomba Hospital. We can provide treatment under local anaesthesia (awake), gaseous sedation (happy gas), intra-venous sedation and general anaesthetic.

We encourage parents to discuss the treatment options for their children and be involved in the care of their child. Our aim is to provide all relevant information to parents to help them make important decisions.

Treatment normally commences at the appointment following your initial visit. Parents and guardians are encouraged to be present with their child, provided their presence does not compromise the safety or quality of care. The exception to this is when treatment is provided under general anaesthetic or IV sedation - you will be allowed in until your child goes to sleep, but after that, we ask that you wait in the waiting room.

Patient coordinator
Parents of children who require complex treatment, which may include treatment under general anaesthetic will be assigned a patient coordinator. Our patient coordinator will help you prepare for the operation as well as answer any questions you may have regarding hospital admission, discharge and post-operative care.
