Dr Will is a registered specialist in paediatric dentistry. Dr Will grew up in South Africa, but moved to New Zealand as a teenager, where he completed his high school and undergraduate university years. He has been a full-fledged Australian for seven years now, and is proud to call Australia home.
Following his undergraduate studies, Dr Will spent his first year working for the Queensland Government, in hospital, community and school dental clinics, from Cairns to the remote parts of Cape York. After several years in private practice in Brisbane, he accepted a joint position as Senior Dentist/Lecturer with Queensland Health and the University of Queensland, where he advanced his interest and enjoyment of paediatric dentistry. Three years later, he returned to the University of Otago to specialise in paediatric dentistry. His doctoral research focused on the oral health of teenagers and he has published internationally in his field.
Dr Will enjoys all aspects of paediatric dentistry. He has special interests in behaviour management, dental trauma, paediatric oral surgery, the dental management of children in early childhood, and children who are medically compromised.
Dr Will is a member of the Australian Dental Association, the Australasian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry, the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry, the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry, and is both a fellow and member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
In his spare time, Dr Will likes to spend time with his family, keeping fit, relaxing by the beach, and may one day manage to surf standing up.
